Māori kites, also known as manu tukutuku, are traditional Māori kite designs made from natural materials such as harakeke (flax), raupō (bulrush), and kareao (supplejack). They were used for a variety of purposes, including recreational and ceremonial activities, to communicate, measure the likelihood of a successful enemy attack, or to find offenders. Wetere Home of Arowhenua will be running one-hour workshops focused on making your own manu tukutuku.

No prior knowledge is needed to attend this workshop.
